I Am Learning To Chunk My Words

I am in Tuataras for Reading and we have been learning to use different reading strategies. 

I need to look for chunks (word parts) that I know to help me read the word quickly.

I am learning to chunk our words.

I was able to chunk the words.

I found this easy because I am good at my reading.

My next step is to practise chunking trickier words.

I Am Learning To Create A Self Portrait

I drew my self portrait using a sketching pencil.

I needed to think about size, shape and position of body parts

I coloured my self portrait using pastels.

I needed to think about using colours effectively by blending different pastel colours

I coloured my background using pastels.

I needed to think about using warm and cool colours for effect

Welcome to my Learning Journey for 2018. 

I am in Year 2 in Room 7 and my teacher is Mrs Beach.

Teen facts

I am learning about teen number facts.  I am able to write facts using tens and ones blocks.

" I can learn how to add 1 and tens  by counting in my head." said Savelii

Reading Eggs

I am learning to recognise digraphs and blends so I can read the sounds that two letters make.  Reading Eggs helps me to reinforce my learning.

"I can pass the levels on the Reading Eggs so I can be better at Reading" said Savelii

My teddy bear

I am learning to retell an event in my own words, using a beginning, middle and ending. I have tried to use different sentence starters to make my story interesting.

"I can sound out words in story writing. I am getting better at finger spaces and capitals and fullstops. I can do heaps of wow words for writing." Savelii

Bird pillow

For our Art Exhibition this year we learnt how to sketch a bird.  The final drawing was transferred onto calico and dye was added.  The bird was glued onto a pillow that Mrs Scott and Mrs Worsfold had sewn.  Don't they look great!
